This next week I will be moving into the client services side of the advertising agency I work for. I will be working directly with the clients as an account executive. This will mean hard conversations, more travel, and a ton of email! I hope it also means I grow as an advertising agency employee. I’ve always loved the interaction with the clients, so I think this will fill a need in me. I’m also really excited to learn the “business” side of the agency. After being on the creative teams for 10 years, I think this is a good time to evolve. It seems every ten years there is a new evolution in my life, I guess this is it for this decade!
I am nervous though. Nervous I will struggle at driving the accounts. Nervous I won’t be able to be “creative” anymore. Nervous I will lose work/life balance because the new job is so demanding. But mostly I’m just excited. Excited to learn something new and grow as a person. Excited to learn even more about our company and industry. Excited to bring my experience and expertise to a new department.
I have to say thanks to PlattForm for all I have learned over the last 10 years. (Has it really been 10 years?) The opportunities I’ve had have been amazing; I could never have learned everything from a text book. And it’s been really great having different positions within the same company. From video editor, to producer/director, to interactive video producer/site manager, to brand strategist … wow, what a great array of on-the-job training! That’s one of the great things about PlattForm, they are open to giving people new opportunities.
So here’s to a new evolution, may it be beneficial to all!
Yes, you did not get an accountability post yet this week, I didn’t want to make everyone jealous! I’ve lost a total of 15 lbs. so far, my body fat has dropped 4.5%, my waist is now measuring 28, and I have to go buy new clothes this weekend … I don’t have a thing to fit me anymore. Woo hoo for me!
Did I just hear the bullshit alarm going off? I running to the basement to take cover.
