The shoot went great, Marrick was awesome. Awesomely cute!

Marrick getting set up for shot.
We got there and headed to the trailer (make-up, catered lunch, etc …), had to hang out a while due to the rain. Finally a few hours later the photographer got the lighting set-up inside and we were ready to go. They put Marrick on the couch with the book they are advertising for, it’s one that you talk into and then push a button and it plays back. While they are setting up I ask if I can take a picture and they say not while he’s shooting and I say of course not, just when they are setting up. What am I, new? Anyway, he was saying “I’m a cool dude!” and then giggling and smiling in just the perfect way when he heard his voice back. And of course the book was propped in his hands perfectly so you could see the cover and title. I mean duh, he’s a professional. The photographer then takes the memory card and pops it into his computer to check out the shots he got, OMG they are even cuter than I thought they would be. I say how great they are to the photographer and how they would make a great Christmas card (it’s a Christmas book with a tree in the background). I then ask if he’s local since we hire freelance photographers all the time. A few short minutes later the producer comes up and asks if I can wait in the trailer for the remainder of the shoot. I was kicked off the set!!!!!!! I was like, did I upset somebody? She was like, the photographer is just kinda mumble, mumble, mumble … god forbid someone is friendly and they compliment your work. Hey dude, get off your high-horse. Artist, I swear! Don’t they know how cool I am? Don’t they know I’ve been a very important video producer in this town for the last ten years. Don’t they know I ’m not your typical stage mom? I mean really, I was so embarrassed.

I got this shot when I was banished to the basement!
Needless to say, Marrick may or may not be asked to model for Hallmark again. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it felt. He did perform perfectly; I was so very proud of him.
Moral of the story, if you’re not the producer on the set, might be best just to keep your ass in the trailer with the rest of the stage moms parents! Lesson learned. Man being a friendly extrovert is hard some times.
I said I need to lose a turkey here. The turkey has been fattened up for the slaughter. I must slaughter the turkey. This pilgrim is declaring independence from excuses, independence from emotional eating, independence from the bed at 5:00am, independence from being lazy. Independence from the turkey, turkey. Stay tuned for progress reports. Goal, 15 lbs. by September 25th.
I love summer! Vacation, girls weekend, fishing, and BBQ’s.
Yes, while I was being a big-fat blogging slacker, Marrick turned 4. Here are some of the photographs Aunt Kelly took, as usual they are awesome.
